CRIME AND (LACK OF) PUNISHMENT

(This is an opinion piece.  These are my educated opinions on any possible or probable outcome(s).  As always, I do not support any illegal or unconstitutional activities.)

I wanted to reflect on some things.

As a child, I did martial arts with my brother. We defended ourselves from bullies and learned to fight. When we were young teenagers, for a short time, we got away with murder.

Thankfully, that was just a saying in the eighties. Teens who said that did not mean actual murder (unlike today.)

What occurred was this: My dad (for our extremely bad acts and with cause) would spank us with a belt. For almost a year, we would laugh about it. We suffered more pain in training than that belt. So, the “punishment” did not deter us.

Eventually, he caught us and started using more effective punishments (grounding, taking things away, etc.) That punishment worked.

Why on earth did I bring this up?

Well, because a man laughs at our criminal justice system. A system he and his lawyers have manipulated not even to be tried for alleged crimes. Or even receive punishment for crimes he was convicted of.

What about his monetary penalties for openly defying the court?

Well, if he is still a billionaire (open to debate,) then let’s do some math.

Let’s say your net asset value (your financial “worth”) is one million.

Let’s assume you say things in court that, typically, long before the tenth time, would have the bailiff hauling you to a cell to cool your heels, only causing you to get a $1,000 fine instead.

You spend ten thousand to make the judge and the court system a laughingstock.

So how much is $10,000?

It is relative. When I was broke in my twenties, one thousand dollars was a devastating amount of money.

Assuming a 4% return on one million dollars?

$40,000 a year just in interest.

So, what is it on a billion?

$40 million each year.

What is my point? That it is now, based on precedent, OK for me to tell a judge to F-off to my heart’s content—at least ten times.

And all I pay is $10,000.

To a millionaire, that is money well spent to tell someone who wore a bathrobe to work to go pound sand.

So, I ask you, do you think these fines, or others, will deter a billionaire who completely disregards the law and social norms?

The idea of delaying sentencing until after the election is ridiculous. Donald Trump is a felon 34 times over. Full stop.

This isn’t open to debate. He isn’t a “political victim”—he is a criminal. So, if the people want a newly convicted felon to be their president, then let them figure out how to run the country from “Camp Rikers” (AKA running the country while in Prison. Such as from inside Rikers Correctional Facility.)

Judges (plural—four cases, remember), unless you put him in prison, he will laugh at your pathetic fines.

(Oh, wait! Only three. Because his personally appointed, and clearly in his pocket, pet judge—Aileen Cannon—dismissed all of the charges in the Federal Classified Documents case! Let’s recap what, after deliberately delaying as much as possible and then dismissing without cause, were the charges in Florida: 32 counts of willfully retaining national defense information, three counts of withholding or concealing a document, one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, two counts of false statements, and two counts of destroying, altering, concealing or mutilating an object or record.)

There was no reason he could not have been sentenced with a report date after November 7th. Anyone could argue that being on trial alone could be election interference (and oh boy, have they!)

Remember that all four cases involved crimes he was indicted on over a year ago. The only reason it wasn’t earlier was that, at least for the federal cases, the DOJ can’t even investigate a sitting president. Also, the Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) decision in September 2024 allowed a former president to avoid charges entirely if his illegal (now legal) actions were while he was president.

So, since the SCOTUS (Justice branch) has already fallen to MAGA, will the executive and legislative branches fall next? They will if the POTUS is Trump and Congress and the Senate have enough MAGA in them.

Our forefathers fought and died and enshrined in our constitution protections that no president would ever be king, or be given any absolute powers of Kingship.

SCOTUS just overturned that.

Trump going to trial and getting convicted is not election interference.

It is long overdue justice!
